Cream Cheese Cake Squares

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix [or Devil’s Food-Yummy!]
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter [1 stick], softened
  • 2 cups pecans halves *optional*
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 box confectioners’ sugar

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1 egg and butter.  
  2. Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar and remaining 2 eggs until smooth. 
  4. Place pecan halves in rows over top.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-55 minutes, until golden brown. 
  6. Cool on a wire rack; cut into squares. 
  7. Store in the refrigerator.
